Hello Ian,

Just wanted to say thank you, for the best day we have ever had in all the years we have been visiting Scotland. The trip to Kinloch Hourn, one we have made several times before ourselves, was made so very special by the abundance of wildlife, your knowledge of the local history, the plant life, Billy's boat trip to Barrisdale Island & yes, even the bugs.

I doubt we will ever find anything to match that day, we will keep trying though.

Many Thanks
                                             Tina & Rob Platt.

To the west of the Great Glen in the Scottish Highlands lies Glen Garry, a little known area of outstanding beauty and abundant wildlife. A single track road winds it's way firstly along the tranquil shores of Loch Garry, a Special protection area regularly visited by Birding enthusiasts as Black throated diver and scoter nest here. Osprey returned to the Glen in 2009

Rising up above the settlement of Kingie the road snakes along the side of wild Loch Quoich with its attendant munros. Here red deer roam freely, golden eagles soar and sea eagles are becoming frequent visitors.

Finally, the road suddenly drops 700 feet to join the sea at Kinloch Hourn, beyond which lie the rough bounds of Knoydart, one of Europe's last true wilderness's.

Trips are led by Photographer Ian MacLeod who has lived and worked in the area for 20 years and also runs Nevispix photography.

Wild West are perfectly located for those walking the Great Glen Way to take a break from the trip to see a little of the local wildlife. Residents at the Great Glen Water Park can be collected from the park.

On top of the scheduled trips advertised on the safari page and in the leaflet, we are happy to discuss other options, such as dawn and dusk safaris when wildlife is at it's most active, or weekends. Please contact Wild West to discuss your prefferences and get a quote for your private group
